GetBestSize returns 20,20 also. I used wxDesigner and it sets a size for the wxTreeCtrl which seems to be just a random choice. Maybe its a 2.2.1 thing.

a wxTreeCtrl item. If so, how does one determine how wide to make a dialog
or splitter. I also tried sizers but it only gets the 20,20 size. This
small also seems to confuse the horizontal splitter window.Does tree.GetBestSize() return a good value?
