It is undocumented. Mostly they are for debugging but they
also set up the extra horizontal line that can appear above
or below headers. Maybe one day this will be cleaned up.
On a (vaguely) related note, where is the documentation for
wxStyledTextControl? I couldn't find it in the normal wxPython documentation
(possibly because the StyledText control isn't a "core" part of wxWindows,
but is a contributed control?
