Are you using win9x or GTK?
The win version is limited to 16 colors for some images, like
the toolbar images, and I think the tree images have the same
limit.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried using a bitmap instead and got the
same
result. I don't know if this proves is disproves your explanation. Has
anyone else had this problem?

possible explanation:
You're likely running in 256 colour mode with 256 colour gifs. The
gifs are likely getting mapped to the system's palette before display.
solution:
Sorry, don't have one handy.
Good luck,
Mike

I've had a problem for a while that I've just been ignoring, but now I
must
solve it. I'm loading icons into a wxTreectrl (which are in gif format),
but some of the colors are just appearing gray? shades of tan, brown, and
blue especially. Does anymore have an explanation or solution for this?

I'm using both. With GTK, I have no problem. On win9x, my toolbar images
work fine, its just the tree images that turn gray. The 16 colors makes
sense, but is that 16 specific colors? or just a 16 color palette? because
I've tried making the gifs 16 colors(4 bit) and unfortunately it doesn't
seem to help. Hmmm, how frustrating. Any other suggestions?
