Stick the following in your .bashrc do a "$ . .bashrc". If I remember
correctly this worked for me. Seems to be some sort of pthreads problem.
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5

Hello all,
I am new to wxPython and have not been able to find anything on this
problem in my google searches. I compiled/installed python 2.2 and
wxPython 2.4.1.2. I then downloaded the demos and ran demo.py. All
worked great except Throbber and Thread (both of which incidently use
threads). I have a RedHat 9 dual processor (intel) system. The problem
is that both Throbber and Thread hang the app completely. The thread
demo works "for a few moments" (you can see the bars moving) then stops
and hangs the entire demo app. The same setup (apparently the same)
seems to work fine on another system that is single processor. I
compiled with gtk 2 as the widget set. Any suggestions? Is there any
other information I could provide to make it easier for someone to
recognize the problem?-Todd
