Thank you it solved. I was not using the same version of wxPython and
wxGTK.
I am not sure if it is only me but I wasn't able to uncompress :
wxGTK-2.3.2.tar.gz
from the main downloading site. Fortunelty there is on the same web page
at the top
a better copy.
