This is very true. Tk’s Text widget’s system of indexes, tags and marks is awesome.
However, as a heavy user of Tk’s Text widget, it has some annoying features too, such as a ton of built-in key bindings that can often get in your way, and having to drop to the Tcl level for advanced things.
