If I understand correctly you are attempting to communicate between two different frames? Have you had a look at ModelViewController - wxPyWiki, which has two different examples (runnable demos, in fact) that accomplish this? It may be helpful to you.

Mr. Rooney,
I haven't dug into the text on the page yet, I want to put my thinking cap on before I do that, but I did try the two examples on the page, and the fact that one frame's widget, made something happen on another frame's widget is promising. In fact, I started clapping and cheering when I saw it. I'm really excited, off to read and absorb knowledge!!!!
