2013

Hi all,

I just took a look at the Sourceforge download stats for the first time in a long while and was pleasantly surprised to see that there have been 595,510 downloads in 2013 (so far), with 60% of the downloads going to Windows. There were 406,251 downloads of 2.8.12.1 with most of the rest in 2.9.4.0 and 2.9.5.0.

Which should be expected since e.g. Linux users (like me  sometimes
prefer native packages (e.g. deb , rpm , ...) and those are often
distributed via PPAs , online repositories , etc ... as opposite to
Windows .

Very impressive, especially when one counts all the other sources to get wxPython from.

P.S.
Thanks for the 3.0 release, looking forward to switching to it.
