Snow Leopard - 64 bit?

Does anyone know how progress for wxpython in 64-bit on OS X Snow
Leopard is going?

I've googled quite a bit, and have turned up all sorts of stuff
mentioning wxpython being ported to use Cocoa so it works with 64-bit
python in Snow Leopard, but nothing about current status, timelines,
or roadmaps. I know about the 32-bit workaround; I'm just trying to
find out how the 64-bit progress is going...

Robin said (a week or two ago) that the Cocoa port is “mostly functional”, and Kevin Ollivier told me a couple of months ago that “Pretty much all of the wxPython demo is running using it.” I’ve never seen Robin or anyone else mention specific dates on this mailing list - from what I’ve seen, open-source projects rarely have official timelines or roadmaps (probably a benefit of not having to appease investors/shareholders every quarter). It’s all in SVN, so anyone can download and compile it themselves - but I immediately ran into problems when I tried doing this with wxWidgets a month or so ago, and haven’t had the time or energy to investigate further.

Thanks for the info. I keep my eyes peeled.
