Hi All,
just in case someone is interested:
http://ar.pycon.org/2012/activity/speakers/56
My understanding is that I will give a talk on wxPython, AGW and
Phoenix and another talk on the integration of GUI (via wxPython) and
numerical/plotting/visualization libraries and their use in the oil
industry (i.e., a talk on the scientific track). Possibly a tutorial
as well on wxPython.
I am currently piling up material on the first talk, and if someone
has interesting ideas please do let me know. I already have the
presentation laid out but, as it is still relatively early, I could
easily incorporate new suggestions on subjects that may have slipped
my mind or I may have overlooked.
I don't know how many on this list will attend PyCon Argentina, but
hopefully I will be (finally) able to meet some wxPython users in
person
.
Andrea.

Congrats on going to a PyCon and being a speaker too! That rocks! Why did you choose PyAr? I wish I could go.

It sounds like you already have plenty to talk about for the first talk to me. If you do a tutorial, I might have ideas for that though.
Good luck regardless!

I was kindly (and unexpectedly) invited to PyAr; it's my first
experience on a Python conference in general (I have never attended
one, even as a non-speaker). I will also get the chance to see a bit
of South America, where I have never been before. In addition, being
half-latino myself, I am sure I will get along pretty well with all
the conference participants
.

OK, I'll let you know (depending also on the PyCon organization and
schedule, of course), so maybe we could share some ideas on the
tutorial.
Good luck regardless!
Thank you.

I'd like a wxPython tutorial. I think that it would be an interesting
subject an introduction for good practices on integration with
databases and web services and other APIs, from a wx perspective. I
don't know if other argentinian user is planning to give a talk on wx,
there are a couple of them that probably will (as they did in other
conferences), namely Mariano and Sebastián Bassi, so maybe there would
be needed some sort of coordination.
Another subject that I would like to see (I think that it's very
important) in a wx talk is the wx embeded web browser. I know there
are plans to embed a more powerful web browser than the current built-
in widget. But I think that it's still in development.
By the way, I have submitted a sprint proposal on GestionLibre
Google Code Archive - Long-term storage for Google Code Project Hosting. (posted at this group before), a
mini-erp project that uses AUINotebook as gui (trough Mariano
Reingart's gui2py), with the intention of gaining developer comunity
support for it. The project has not been implemented yet, although
there is a first release already available.
