Shhhh, supposed to be a secret for a little while longer
Was the 2.8 in the title added by the publisher? Just seems that once
2.9 is out, people may think the book is outdated - I'm sure a lot
will still apply; like with wx In Action.

Does Packt know!? Anyway, I bought the RAW edition. Let me know if
you'd like feedback or not.

Yes, but 2.8 will be standard for quite some time yet, (IIRC it took
almost 3 years after 2.8 was released for the majority of linux
distros to go from using 2.6 to 2.8 as the default version to use).
Adoption of wxWidgets/Python 3.0 will likely be even longer out due to
the higher number of incompatible changes between release versions.
2.9 are developmental releases (meaning no frozen api) so any software
that is seriously (professionally) using the library will not likely
consider dropping 2.8 support until after 3.0 is out.
And yes all content in the book will be relevant for versions of the
library 2.8 and higher (well at least as far as I can see of the
visible future to 3.0 anyway).

Yes of course (I was just kidding).
Off list feedback would be appreciated. Their RAW program is very
interesting, its like an open source paradigm for books. That being
noted the current RAW chapters are un-edited first drafts,
updates/corrections/improvements will be made up until the final
publication later this fall.
Thanks,
Cody

I wondered if the chapters were first drafts...Manning does something
similar, but they provide a forum of sorts for the people that buy the
book early to post book errors to and the author can interact with
them that way.
I'll make notes of anything I notice that seems off or whatever and
drop you line.
