Hello Angelo,
The problem is that messages are not displayed in the log window until
the sequence is over, so it is quite impossible to see what's going on:
the sequence can last very long and getting fresh information
about it can be useful for users.
I don't know about GTK and Unix things, but usually on Windows calling one
of wx.SafeYield(), wx.Yield() or wx.YieldIfNeeded() *after* having
displayed the log message did the trick for me.
