I've posted a followup to the report designer screencast I did earlier this week. It rounds it out by making the report look nicer and then showing it in a live application instead of just in the designer surface.
http://dabodev.com/documentation
You may want to start the download, hit 'pause' (lower-left of window) and wait for a few minutes before starting the playback, to let more of the screencast get to your local computer to avoid choppiness.
Critical feedback on what you see in this would be most welcome.

Paul, I can't get this to work.
From the same webpage, both of the sizer screencasts work straight away, so
I think my setup is ok.
I have downloaded and unzipped the first report designer screencast, and I
have clicked on the second one. In both cases, I get a blank browser screen,
with a heading and a status bar saying it is loading the page, and then it
goes no further.
I am using IE6 on Windows Server 2003, and I have Macromedia Flash Player 8
installed. Is there anything else I need?
Thanks

I'm having trouble now too. I'm on a friend's system away from my home, and it gets about halfway and then stops. Thanks for the report on this. I'll let you know when I've got it figured out...

I'm having trouble now too. I'm on a friend's system away from my home, and

let you know when I've got it figured out...
Please try the following links and let me know if you have better luck:
http://paulmcnett.com/screencasts/ReportDesignerOverview.html
http://paulmcnett.com/screencasts/ReportDesignerOverviewPartTwo.html
The first one loads a 29MB swf file. The second loads a 9.5MB swf file. So, you may want to confirm #2 first.
Thanks

I think Dabo is for professional users. I and my fiends have read the
doc, but are still confused. We do not know what does Dabo for. For
database? well there is not a complete html tut on it. We do not stiil
know how to complete a tiny database project from the root.
And we have downloaded the bin for windows, when we try to load the
IDE, it prompts that PIL module is missing and exits, so it is not a
all-in-one binary for windows user. however those 2 games run well
There was an issue with some unnecessarily strict checking for dependencies, which may be what you're running into.
I'd suggest either getting the latest version from SVN (instructions at the bottom of the Downloads page), or install PIL.
If neither of those sounds good .... wait for someone to give a better answer, sorry I couldn't help more.

Much better
They both work, and they both start straight away, without downloading the
entire file first, which is a neat trick.
Many thanks
