Hello,
is there a snapshot of the wiki or some way I can get the guides for
WXPython? I tried reading the dox that one can download from the
site, but they were so out of date, the examples didn’t even work,
on top of that, there are all kinds of missing things.
Also, on another related topic, because I am a new WXPython user,
would it be advantageous for me to go to PySide and learn it
instead?
thanks,

Looks like the Internet Wayback is the only game in town for now to access the wiki.
Not sure how much advice you’ll get here to use PySide, as most people here use only (I’d guess?) wxPython. That said, the creator of wxPython, Robin Dunn, actually is working on the PySide project now, so there’s that.

If you download documents and examples package you will find working
samples of just about everything in wxPython, many of the older
documents packages are actually copies of the wxWidgets documents
packages so deal mostly with the C++ interface but there are notes
on which methods have different names in wxPython. There is also which, as a part of porting wxPython to python 3 has
regenerated the documentation using this is wxPython
specific information so is clearer in many cases. See the wxPhoenix
documentation .
If you are keen to use the Phoenix documentation offline then AFAIK
the documents and demos package does not yet include them and be
cautioned that they are still a work in progress but you could
always use scrapy to make a local copy of the documentation.
On your other point I don’t think that you will get many people on
the mailing list recommending learning instead!

Google for internet wayback, go to the site, put in the web site you want a “snapshot” of from a previous time (in this case this: http://wiki.wxpython.org/), it will provide you with a view of the various snapshots they took, and you choose one (I’d recommend the most recent). You will then see the pages.
This works for any site, if they happened to take a snapshot of it. Interesting project. They’ve archived over 435 billion web pages so far. Not bad!
