What's the status of development and support of xrced? There doesn't
seem to have been a release for a while. On the other hand, I see that
the version packaged with wxPython has had at least one minor version
past the one available on SourceForge. What's up with it?
As I recall, the development of xrced is now within the venue of
wxPython itself. I think it got rolled in much like Andrea's widgets
did. I'm not sure why the sourceforge site doesn't mention that
though.
Hopefully xrced's author or Robin can elucidate.

Yes, XRCed is now in wxPython's SVN repository and has been for quite a while. This is mainly to make it easier to include in wxPython's releases.
Roman still makes periodic updates to the code, but I don't think that there is any active work on new features. Once in a while there are some patches submitted for it that I'll usually apply after reviewin, so if there are features of fixes you want to see in it anybody can go ahead and implement the change and submit a patch.
