Hi all,
I downloaded xrced 1.8-4 from the xrced website but there doesn't seem
to be a "Code" tab anymore. What happened to it, and what should I use
now instead?

As I recall, xrced is now a part of wxPython and is updated in the wx releases. The xrced website’s last build was in 2007. Just use the one that comes with wxPython.
