wxStatusBar - how to set background colour

Hi list,

I try to set the background colour of a wxStatusBar but it doesn’t seem
to work.

I used

SetBackgroundColour(wxColour(*wxRED))

followed by a

Refresh()

Why isn’t this working, where do I go wrong?
