Hello, wxPython users.
On January, Mr.Anand posted the following message.
I am trying to install wxPython on an SGI Indigo machine running IRIX
6.5.
I have already installed wxGTK (version 2.2.3) and Python 2.0 without
any
problems and they appear to be OK. The build process for wxPython
(version
2.2.2) seemed to complete without any major glitches (there were
several
compiler and linker warnings that I ignored). After going through the
build and install steps, I trued to run the demo, with the following
result:
A splash screen with an image of John Cleese and the wxPython title
appeared for a few seconds and then Python crashed with a core dump
(Bus error).
I then tried the first two examples in the tutorial (Part I - Using
wxPython), with the following result:
The first example ran OK, but the second caused Python to crash with a
core dump.
Yesterday, I got basically the same problem, except that
1) I'm using Octane, installed wxGTK 2.2.5 / wxPython 2.2.5 / Python
2.1.
2) It didn't even leave a core dump.
I used gcc 2.95.2.
I contacted Mr. Anand but he wrote that he couldn't find a solution to
it after all.
If anybody experienced a similar problem, may I ask how you worked
around this problem?
Or any suggestions or clues?
Thank you very much in advance.
