It turns out that Robin's suggestion to use
myWindow.AddPendingEvent() appears to work fine. It throws
an exception that the code can handle rather than blowing
up. It requires using wxPython 2.3.3 though (appears to blow
up differently under 2.3.2.1).Yes that is a new 2.3.3 feature. I thought that your origional message said
you were using 2.3.3pre5.
Hi Robin,
As it turned out, everyone on our team is using 2.3.3pre5 with the
exception of the guy actually tweaking that bit of code. That was a
surprise to me as I had issued instructions on what versions to test.
Once he upgraded to 2.3.3pre5, the problem went away. Of course,
he now had to deal with the other stuff that has changed in how the
controls behave, but that's life. He should have been using 2.3.3
previews the whole time...
