wxpython-users] how to hide the cmd.exe windows when I run a wxPython program

Did anyone else get garbage sent to them (I subscribe to the digest) when these two people posted?

They’re both Gmail users too- as I am.

Why would anyone want the good old plain text? We have MIME now. Use it!

You go to

http://lists.wxwidgets.org/mailman/listinfo/wxpython-users

And enter your subscription email address in the bottom text box and click
the button labeled "Unsubscribe or edit options". Scroll down to the section
labeled "*Get MIME or Plain Text Digests?" *and change it to MIME.

That's all there is to it.

When this question first came up I looked at my outgoing settings (remember that Gmail gives you two options: "Unicode (UTF-8)" or "default text encoding"). It _was_ set to "default"; out of curiosity I set it to Unicode. Now Tony is getting garbage... I've set it back to "default", so I hope that resolves any issues.

However, it sounds like _somebody_ isn't handling Unicode properly.

No it is being handled correctly. Base64 encoding is a perfectly legitimate way to encode email messages, especially if they may have non-ascii characters. The problem is that things like some archivers and digest builders don't decode them but just pass the text along unchanged. But when the messages are viewed individually (like what you get if you use the MIME digest option) then there is no problem because the mail program is then able to recognize the message envelope and encoing information and do the Right Thing.
