Sorry to interrupt the useful threads with my question:
Is it ok to post an offer for a wxpython-job on this list?
Happy hacking,

Yes. As long as they are related I don't have a problem with it.

Besides, he didn't mention it, but last we heard, Robin is looking for a
wx-related job!

Due to a technical glitch in the funding process Sliceware closed up about a
month ago. The IP has been sold as part of the liquidation and the new
owner is very interested in moving the technology forward and we are about
to finalize an arrangement. In the meantime I have been taking on short- or
limited-term consulting jobs...

Hello fellow pythoneers and wxwinners!
We're in the process of developing a fairly complex application with
complicated datastructures and a frontend to match. There's not much
to it in the graphical aspect and most of that is in place already.
But the interactions between bits and pieces of data (which are stored
in a mySQL-Database at the moment but will probably migrate to Oracle
later on) and various elements of the frontend are rather complex.
The application (running on Windows) tackles the task of managing the
german Tarifsystem, i.e. treaties between workers unions an employers.
Think 30000 treaties that are valid right now and try to imagine
handling the complex regulations developed in free negotiations with a
historical perspective. The goal of our application is to manage
data-entry in a user-friendly way, extract meaningful data and offer
rich and customizable options for generating reports from handling
standard statistical operations to integrating formulas entered on the
fly.
We're a small and healthy company located at the heart of one of
Berlins most popular areas (Kollwitzplatz) and offer working in a
small group with a relaxed athmosphere and reasonable office hours.
Since the requirements-paper for this application is written in german
and there is lamentably no time to translate it, good knowledge of
the german language in writing is a requirement. Day to day
communication can be in english as well (if you can bear my english).
Working remotely might be an option as well, we welcome any proposals.
If we complete this project successfully - with your aid - there will
be many more to come.
We're looking forward to your inquiries!
Jo Meder.
