This appears to still be true. Also it appears that wxCommandEvent
is missing GetClientData() as well. I'm using wxPython 2.3 for
Python 2.1 on Win32. Is this in the works?

Just checked in. I went to verify why it couldn't be done and found that
someone had slipped in some code that would let me do it, so I did. <grin>
