wx.TaskbarIcon and Ubuntu with Unity

Hi all,

I have an application that uses the wx.TaskbarIcon as the main interface (I know that this isn’t supported on WM on Linux that don’t support System Tray Protocol).

However I’m trying to figure out an alternative elegant solution (perhaps something that shows up in the dock with the same menu items I would otherwise display). Any suggestions for this? Would it be an empty 1x1 pixel frame? How would I add items to the dock item?

Curious if anyone is coding for Unity at all and what your experiences are?

Thanks much,

-Rishi

Hi,

but wx.TaskbarIcon works fine for me in Win XP and 7 and Ubuntu 12.10 or maybe I dont see something in your comments?

For unity search in google about : How To Re-Enable The Notification Area (Systray) In Ubuntu, For All Applications ~ Web Upd8: Ubuntu _ Linux blog Archivos

I replace the by default value for ALL and with no problems.

Saludos / Best regards
