What I thought row to be are the strings in each column when an one is
selected by clicking on it. I see by re-reading the OnItemSelected() and
OnShowSelected() methods (pages 409-410) that it looks to be only the item
in the first column and not all of them.
How to get all items in the row so one or more can be edited in a report
mode list seems to be evading my efforts. Perhaps I should reframe my
question to "given that editing is not trivial with a report mode list, how
should I go about allowing editing?"

What is type(row)? Remember that argument 1 is the implicit self
parameter, so the error above is actually about the row parameter.
