Let's start with some background:
I know C++, which is why the current C++ docs don't bother me, but
that's not the case for a lot of Python users.
This is the issue that bugs me about all of this. While I respect the
importance of keeping in mind that not everyone has the same C++
expertise as me, I'm not sure it's my place to judge how much of a
problem the proposal will cause for them.
There have been a number of postings now of the form "It's not a
problem for me, personally, but..."
It would be useful to see a posting from someone who really does have
a problem translating the docs to the proposed syntax, but who doesn't
have a problem using the docs right now. In the absence of anyone
owning up to this, I'd say it's reasonable to assume that no such
people exist.
