waf 1.7.11 released

Everyone talks about wasting time on having to do things that are not big changes in Phoenix source. Have you considered that you just wasted your time by writing this e-mail instead of bug-fixing Phoenix? Think about it. But I tell you this: even a small change like bumping up the version of waf is a major change.

Have you considered that you just wasted your time by writing this e-mail

instead of bug-fixing Phoenix?

I'm fairly sure that has occurred to everyone reading or responding to this
thread.

Thanks, Daniel; this quip made me look into the Mute option in Gmail
for silencing threads, something I haven't used before. It's under
More at top. Handy.

Yes, I am very aware of that. I was hoping to keep Robin from wasting HIS time even replying to you on yet another pointless change request.

But I tell you this: even a small change like bumping up the version of waf is a major change.

Err, obviously, that's sort of the point. Big change for no discernible benefit. How in anyone's mind does that even make any sense?

You really, really have to stop focusing on irrelevant details. I gave you some hints on how you could effectively contribute to the development and spreading of Phoenix in the Python community. That work would give you deeper understanding on the wx.lib package and praise from the community.

Changing whatever waf version to a new one is going to add zero value to the project as a whole. This waf crap has been working OK for me in the last 15 months or so, despite being awful Python code, so there is no need whatsoever for anyone using it to build wxPython to upgrade unless a ultra-major security breach has been discovered in 1.7.11

If you want to really help, you need to start working on the port of Phoenix to Jython. They’ve been needing wxPython for years!
