VTK and wxPython?

Yes, I had found the enthought web site and seen your distribution. I
guess my question is: Why should I use this distribution rather than what
might be regarded as a more "standard" one? What do I gain? What do I
risk losing?

It looks as though the Enthought edition is just the standard edition plus
a number of other packages. But in fact most of these packages I am not
currently interested in, and there are several packages critical to me
(Plex, Metakit, PyBSDDB, psyco) that are not included. Can I install your
2.2.3 edition over my current one without harm and not include the various
pieces I don't need? It might be worth it if this would result in a MayaVi
that would work for us with no effort.
