First you should get the ActiveX API documentation for VLC, where you would find out if the control supports the feature you require. If yes, you can try embedding it using as reference the example I posted a few days ago:

If you were using wxPython 2.8 you could use wx.activex which simplifies the code (you don't need to provide an ActiveX wrapper class yourself), but for me is more hassle because you are meant to generate previously class code with the genaxmodule script for the integration of the ActiveX control and wxPython. Besides, I haven't managed yet to get that working for my exampes.
