Don't forget SAP DB! www.sapdb.org It's based on Adabas D which
ran well in Windows in 1996 at least. But Interbase is certainly
mainly a Windows database, so I suppose Firebird should run as
well in Windows as on other platforms. SAP AG is a somewhat heavier
player than the guys behind Firebird though...

A bit off topic, but.
While SAP is a very good company and has an excellent ERP (and what goes with it) product line, I am not sure what their reasons are to have gone open source with sapdb, so maybe there is a large company behind it, but does it have the same commitment as people have on the Firebird dev group, or for that fact on products like wxPython?!
Frankly, I have worked for years in the big company world and have NEVER EVER seen as good support as I see/get on products such as wxPython, kinterbasdb, Firebird etc. A big thanks to everyone involved in these projects!
