toolbar questions

Hi,

Is it possible to have multiple toolbars like in windows, on the same line
(one after the other) ? With a handle to change their position (change order
of the toolbars) ?

Can a toolbar be shrinked if there are too many toolbars (and show a combo
with the hidden buttons) ?

Can the toolbar be detached from the window as a toolbox ?

Can a vertical toolbar be detached from the top and glued on the side of the
frame ? How ?

TIA,

Ionutz

There is no built-in support for any of this right now, although it is
being discussed for a future version. On the other hand, there have
been studies that show that allowing the average user the ability to
move toolbars and such around leads to more confusion that problems than
it solves.

Can you give me some links to these studies?

My impression is that, in a drawing program, for example, it is very nice to
be able to float your toolbars and and change their size. (However I agree
that I don't do that right now

I don't think I've ever read one myself, I've just heard or read about them second-hand...
