Summary of wxPython Applications

I would like to have a detailed and complete as possible list
of currently (and only open source) wxPython Applications.

I saw the wxPythonPit Apps, but I think, it (c)(sh)ould be restructured.

for Example:

···

---------------------------------------------------
Demo:
  wxPython Demo

Shell:
  Pycrust (in Demo download)

IDE: homepage (optional) Projectpage
(optional download link)
  Boa http://boa-constructor.sourceforge.net/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/boa-constructor/

GUI Builder:
  WxGlade
  XRC

Text Editors:
  spe
  DrPython
  PyPe
  NewEdit

Graphics:
  Cornice

File system:
  dirsync (Directory Synchronizer)

Internet:
  ftpcube
  BTManager

Misc:

  Mindmapping tool:
    Gimini

Good samples:
for example: demonstrating the use of sizers in several layers.

---------------------------------------------------

What thougths?
Anybody would help me (collecting existing applications)?

Thank you!

BTW: I have promised to update the "Autocomplete" wiki page,
I didn't forget it, but I don't have time currently.

Why limit to open source? If this is to promote wxPython as a development tool then I would suggest to include freeware, shareware, dontationware AND commerical applications.

Yeap, some structure might be useful.

for Example:

---------------------------------------------------
Demo:
wxPython Demo

I would keep that out of this section, it is a demo of wxPython and not an application as such.

Shell:
Pycrust (in Demo download)

IDE: homepage (optional) Projectpage
(optional download link)
Boa http://boa-constructor.sourceforge.net/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/boa-constructor/

Shouldn't that be in the wiki section about sizers?

What about putting the above structure into place, then announce it here. At this point I think it should be mainly up to the authors to list there stuff but obviously others should add applications they use or have heard of.

Thank you!

Hello Werner,

Why limit to open source?

wxPython is open source and therefore I think, the main point is to
concentrate to open source apps only.

Second, you can learn much more, if you can study the source.

You can easily suggest/add new features, and report/fix bugs.

If this is to promote wxPython as a
development tool then I would suggest to include freeware, shareware,
dontationware AND commerical applications.

Ok, your opinion

an application as such.

It is only due to completeness.

Shouldn't that be in the wiki section about sizers?

Ok, but samples summarized on one page, they can be found easier.

Someone misses existing applications?
It would be also interesting, how an application was built?
Only with programming editor, wxGlade, Boa.

I for me don't know any application built with Boa.
Beside of Boa and Boa plugins itself(?)

Concentrate, yes but why limit. What about having a link from the open source centric page to another page(s)?

Second, you can learn much more, if you can study the source.

No argument there

Again nearly no argument here, the first of each can be done also for non open source

- http://www.thewinecellarbook.com/ - sorry shareware  , and at the moment I would still not want to show the source as I did some things really complicated and I have not gotten around to correct them as I still concentrate on adding features.

- brewsta - I think this is even listed on the page.

I am sure Riaan could add quite a few as I believe he uses Boa for all his development work.

See you
Werner

Ok, looks nice and extensive and a testimonial for Boa
But it was a huge download (with all the pyd and dlls, py2exe creates.

That is cool.
What about a showcase on Boas homepage: Apps created with Boa?
