Normally I use HTML to laying out my reports and wxHtmlEasyPrinting to print
them.
ReportLab is good for pdf output, but is more complex to use.

Subject: [wxPython-users] Suggestions for printable Reports in wxPython
Hi everyone,
I'm working on my first wxPython app (porting a small financial tracking
app from MS Access to wxPython) and am looking for suggestions on a
reporting framework. I'll need to generate reports from postgresql
database records, often with sub-groups and subtotals. I've heard about
ReportLab over on the Zope list although I've not worked with it at all.
My requirements are that the solution work in both MSW and Linux and
that the license is GPL-ish. I'm hoping some of you have tried
different approaches and can recommend one that you think is best suited
for using with wxPython.
Thanks in advance!
Eric.

I once used
http://reportman.sourceforge.net/
for something like this. It's not really embeddable (so it's not a module),
but it can create fairly complex reports and works server/client based.
UC
(otherwise go ahead and use XML-FO together with fop and saxon. Write a FO
Stylesheet and fill in the data via the application.)
