Well, I can report that this does not happen on:
Python 2.4.2 on linux2
wxPython 2.6.1.1pre on wxGTK (gtk2)
Ubuntu Breezynor on:
Python 2.4.1 on darwin
wxPython 2.6.2.1 on wxMac
OS X 10.4.5
Really! This is getting very weird. It happens on my Intel iMac (MacPython [framework] 2.4.1, wxPython 2.6.2.1, OS 10.4.5) AND it also happens on my PowerBook G4 with exactly the same Python, wxPython, and OS. I just tested it again on both, and it happens in the same place on both.
You pressed the spacebar manymany times and got *all* of the text to show up, right through to "where is the gun of dance working?"??
Yep. The only difference between Ubuntu and Mac were that when I pressed the final space bar (after "where is the gun of dance working?"), on Ubuntu the STC went blank because it apparently scrolled below where the text ended. I could press PageUp or use the scrollbar to get the text back. Mac didn't do that though.
Thank you very much for testing. But I am nonplussed. I don't know where to look.
At least we know what we know. As other people test, that common thread I spoke of could start to show itself.
One thing is that I don't believe I installed anything from MacPython, but I could be wrong here. I remember installing a binary, but can't remember where I got it from. How would I find out? When I start the Python interpreter it says:
Python 2.4.1 (#2, Mar 31 2005, 00:05:10)
[GCC 3.3 20030304 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 1666)] on darwin
And it is installed under /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework. Does that make it a "framework" build? Sorry I'm so ignorant here.
