Now, I’m going to talk about the purpose of outreach or mission -
serving unbelievers by telling them about Jesus. But that can change
this morning and you can become a God pleaser, you can become someone
who serves God.
You use your SHAPE to serve God in your work.
One way to begin to understand the wonderful way that God has created
you is with the acronym SHAPE.
Your and my mission is mission possible.
Your mission is to tell the people in your circle of influence about
your faith in God. In his article he observed that almost all of the
disaster relief was being done by religious groups of one kind or
another. I don’t think the church needs any chemicals mixed.
If we don’t use the Bible as our standard, then there is no
standard.
So, let’s look at the question, "How can you expand your vision to the
world? Can the pot say of the potter, “He knows nothing”?
" Everything you do in life begins in your thought life.
When God fitted you together, He made you with a purpose in mind. One
way to begin to understand the wonderful way that God has created you is
with the acronym SHAPE.
God has shaped and formed you exactly the way that he wanted, you are
the work of His hand.
I hear it nearly every week from people and it basically goes like this.
"My life is in such trouble that I’ve got to look out for myself first.
Your life will never be the same. So too God has created each one of us
differently, because He has a different function, a different ministry
for each person to fulfill. Because every believer is meant to be God’s
messenger to tell others about Jesus. Jesus is saying that you become
great by serving God and others rather than serving yourself.
The faith of believers gives rise to serving others.
Few people think they serve the devil, most just want to do what they
want to do.
