rpm: not an rpm package (or package manifest):

Hello,

I have been trying to install wxPython & wxPython for the past few days but
keep getting this error:

rpm -ivh wxPythonGTK-devel-2.4.0.7-1.i386.rpm
wxPythonGTK-devel-2.4.0.7-1.i386.rpm: not an rpm package (or package
manifest):

i downloaded these packages from: http://wxPython.org/download.php#binaries

Any ideas?

TIA,
alvaro

make sure you download by clicking ont he link, and letting sourceforge
rre-direct you. If you doa right click-> save link as, you'll get a copy
of the re-direction page, rather than the rpm.

As a quick check, take a look at how big the rpm is, it should be about
8MB, if it MUCh smaller than that, you've got a web page, rather than an
rpm.

Thanks Chris.

This is very odd becuase I have been downloading files without a problem, then
i installed bittorrent, it worked for a while, now it doesn't work any more so
I dediced to reinstalled it, that's why i need wxPythonGTK.
I just tried what you suggested, and konqueror, mozilla doesn't even start
to download...is a bit weird...
Will try later again.

up.

SF seems to be in the midst of changing things. When you get to the mirrors page then click on one of the white page icons with the "100110" on it.
