Pylint & import wx

when running pylint on a module with wx import one gets a load of ‘unresolved’ messages; I took the brutal way and turned wx off in my pylint
is there a more subtle way? (at the moment I try to get in touch with mypy: my programs are working as I want them to but these (advanced) tools, I’m afraid, might get me down…)

Much of the Python code in that module is generated monkey-patching code, or snippets of code that is gathered from other sources and assembled together. So it is definitely not in very good shape for linters or similar other tools, or even for humans to easily understand. Ignoring it is probably the best road to take.
