In the past we've discussed a little bit about the Dabo Report Designer here, so hopefully this post isn't seen as entirely off-topic. I've just put together a 23-minute screencast that should give an overview of the current capablilities and design of the tool, available for download here:
Wow! It took a hell of a long time to download, but it was worth it!
You guys are doing some amazing stuff with wxPython! Even though I
don't do database stuff, I can see how a tool like this would attract
a lot of developers who don't think that you can do serious apps in
Python!

We use wxPython for the designer surface, and ReportLab for the PDF output.
In the words of the great ones who have gone before us: That's friggin' awesome dudes!
This is the kind of thing that I envisioned wxPython being used for way back in the early days of the project, in fact I had something similar sketched out on scratch paper at one time. Watching this screencast and your others I almost feel like a proud dad watching his kid grow up and becoming a success at something.

...and eventually we are going to watch someone take what we have done and do something really great with it. Open source rules! Cheers, Robin!
