first of all, just out of curiosity, which platform gives you thiese
kind of messages:

Linux, maybe? I have never seen exceptions like these 
Could you please tell me if you are using the latest NotebookCtrl (that I
have uploaded yesterday)?

This *seems* coming from the call size.x, but size (as a tuple) does have
attribute "x", because size = self.GetSize(). I can't find in this line of
code(1926) on NotebookCtrl anything related to something.x. Could you
please try the latest version and tell me if (and where) this error comes?

Mhm... here it seems that the OnPaint() method in NotebookCtrl is never
called... strange. Is there a way you can tell me which steps have you done
to reproduce this error?
I have to say that I use the notebookctrl inside a splitter window.
That should not matter a lot... also the NotebookCtrl demo has NotebookCtrl
inside a splitter window...
