Are you talking about this mailing list, wxPython-users, or wxPython-dev? I currently access wxPython-users through gmane.comp.python.wxpython, but I don't know of any newsgroup server for wxPython-dev...

You can just go to gmane.org and fill in a form to subscribe any
mailinglist to gmane. Gmane then turns it into a newsgroup. That's how this
list works too (I read on gmane as well). That is of course assuming that
the admin of wxpython-dev doesn't mind gmane mirroring the list.
