Newbie list question

Hello,
I started a "thread" today about events and such, but a strange thing is
happening. After a few posts any new ones I make do not appear in my inbox
when I fetch mail. When I go to the archives of the list in my browser, the
replies are there, it's only in the email (on my end, and I presume others')
that the replies have not appeared. I also have not had any replies to those
posts I sent (that got "lost") so it indicates to me that no one got them.

I hope this post appears!

Is there something I am doing wrong? Some post limit or arcane list voodoo
that I must apply?

It could be that gmail is not receiving mail properly. I suppose.

Thanks,
Donn.

Some list software gives you the option of not receiving posts that you sent yourself. I don't know if that's the case with this one.

I had similar things happen when subscribed to the mailing list. Not sure what caused them, but I took the expedient way out: read the list as a Gmane newsgroup (gmane.comp.python.wxpython). Haven't missed anything since.

Ah, thanks for the tip. I never knew about gmane. Posting from there now.

A test. Can one unsubscribe from the wxPython mailing list and still post
here? We shall see...

There have been another report of this with one of the other wx lists, and it was also a gmail user that was having the problem. In his case we did verify that his message had been received by others, and also that there where no errors in the logs on the mail list server.

In my case, it wasn't gmail; I used Thunderbird for the list, and am still using it for the newsgroup. (For a while, I was subscribed to both, and I could see the messages that were getting lost. Someone might try it as an experiment.)
