I’ve just seen a post where Robin instructed yet another user to go to Sourceforge and file a bug report.
Some do it, some don’t and there is valuable feedback lost when users encountering bugs don’t report them.
Why not make it easier…
Almost all of us use The Demo, so why not have a dedicated button for WTF situations? This button could automatically file the bug report, maybe post a new topic on the list. This could make “improving the wxpython” easier.

What do you think?
I've to admit that I'm one of those "simple" users,
that don't understand a bit of SVN, SubVersion, bug tickets etc
I'm also not a librarian, who notes all the links to all kinds of sites,
I find them if I need them, I hope.
And that's exactly the problem, filing a bug report requires to much energy
So why not put a link to report a bug, on each message in this list ?

I'll review any patches to the demo you care to submit.
I think that something like this would makes sense to have as a "Give Feedback" item on the help menu, or similar. I'm not sure however that I would want it to actually submit a bug to SF as I would prefer that the person actually be logged in to a SF account so that they will get notifications when the bug is updated, and can respond to questions, etc. So perhaps one of the options the Feedback dialog can have is a button that will open the user's web browser to the right page, and they can then login and copy and paste some details (wxPython and Python versions, OS, etc.) from the feedback dialog and then add more info as needed. The other option could be something like "send feedback to developers" which would just send a mail message to wxPython-dev.

Software Craftsman http://wxPython.org Java give you jitters? Relax with wxPython!
And that's exactly the problem, filing a bug report requires to much energy

Can you remember how to type "http://wxpython.org"? The bug submission page is only one "Report a bug" click away from that page.
Robin,
probably I'm the only guy that find it too much trouble,
or maybe even more true:
probably I'm the only guy that admits it's too much trouble
How much trouble is it ?
Well starting each bug report,
costs as much effort as putting the bug report link once at the end of each mail in this list.
(btw all my programs have at least the following help menu: "Help" , "Send (Bug) Report", "About"
and that really works )
After typing "http://wxpython", I've to scroll down to see the "report a bug"
I can also wait sending my bug report, untill a message of you arrives ...
... because your signature contains ...
One other argument, in my country there is saying: "a customer is always right"
btw, I just filed the ogl-focus bug,
and I'll try to report bugs in the future through the official way,
because this group (and you in particular) are to valuable for my as a user / customer.
