We currently don't have automated testing in place, and so
unfortunately it's not uncommon to get regressions in the codebase,
but until we have an automated solution in place we are very, very
dependent on users reporting bugs that they found to improve
wxPython. Robin, myself, and a few other people really can't test
hard enough to find all the problems in wxPython ourselves.

That is exactly the point.
I'm not a computer scientist, I'm a scientist who is using
a very nice computer tool and wish to bring his small
contribution.
All my scripts are working very fine, let me use this nice
versioning mechanism with all wxPython versions and let me
test new version in an easy way ...for further bug(s) reporting.
Python is a scripting language. I prefer to modify a digit
in a wxversion.select() statement, instead of spending my
time in renaming directories and modifying pth file.

See my message to Chris. Also, could you please update your address book? You're sending email to lists.wxwindows.org, but the list address is now lists.wxwidgets.org, and the mailing list ends up leaving the @lists.wxwindows.org address as a CC when it sends out your message to list members. When someone does "Reply All", they'll end up sending the same message to the list twice (like I did accidently earlier.)
Regards,
Kevin
