Simply send a mail message to LISTNAME+subscribe@googlegroups.com from the address that you want to receive the group messages

I did this (after substituting wxPython for "LISTNAME") and got a confirmation letter. (
We have received a request for this email address to join the wxPython group, ...
But visiting the URL in that email gave me the following error message page:
*The subscription request you confirmed has expired or is invalid.*
I think 5 minutes was a rather quick expiration.
When I instead did a "reply" to the confirmation message, I got the expected confirmation.
Thought you'd like to know of the glitch.
Clicking the link worked in my test. Did you really use just "wxPython" or was it "wxPython-users"? If just "wxPython" then you joined the wrong group.
I joined the list on google group and the last few messages I am getting twice.
Because I added the GG address to my replies to the messages from the old list to ensure that they get into the new archive. (I have to put the GG into an archive-only mode in order to load messages into from the old list, so now that the new GG is announced and officially active I'd rather not have to turn it off to add more archive messages.)
If you are getting both messages and want to reply then you can just reply to just the one from googlegroups. Hopefully that will help encourage people to switch.
Will you stop the delivery from the old list or do we have to do this?
Yes, I'll kill the old lists soon, I just wanted to give everybody a few days to switch since I can't add everybody to the group myself due to Google's policies. (I agree with the policy, but it's a pain for transitions like this.)
