If you were subscribed with a valid address before then you still should
be. I copied all the subscriber lists to the new server.

The list archives are available online, linked from each list's home
page. http://lists.wxwidgets.org/mailman/listinfo

I can read the archives without any problem (annoying though). What I can not do
is reading the individual messages separately. (see below).

Yes. You can set a lot of different options on each of your
subscriptions, including disabling delivery. Just go to the list's info
page, enter your subscribed address at the bottom and click "Unsubscribe
or edit options". You can then have the list send you your password,
which you can use to get to the options page.

Years ago (5,6,7?) I subscribed to the list without knowing to much what I was
doing and of course I do not recall the password.
A year later or something like this, beeing tired of receving all the mails,
I unsubscribed with a lot of pain (several attempts until I succeded) and again
without understanding what I have done. I could however visit every individual
message and each wx*** lists separately up to now dates. I lived like this until
this new change.
This could be the reason why my "account" was not transfered correctly. Am I
still subscribed? I really don't know.

Now I'm a little be stuck and I do not know (not to say understand) what I
should do.

Not sure what you mean by this. You can look at the messages for the current month sorted by date, (http://lists.wxwidgets.org/pipermail/wxpython-users/2008-March/date.html) and then click on the message subject you want to read and you'll get just that message (http://lists.wxwidgets.org/pipermail/wxpython-users/2008-March/073881.html).

There are also some other places that archive messages in addition to Gmane if you don't like the archive format. I think nabble.com has one, and there is one at ActiveState here: ActiveState Community - Boosting coder and team productivity with ready-to-use open source languages and tools.

Yes. You can set a lot of different options on each of your subscriptions, including disabling delivery. There wasn't a password then, because ezmlm handled all control via email, and validation was done simply by sending an email from the address that you want to setup, configure, change, etc. Mailman on the other hand has a web interface that makes it easy for you to manage your subscription yourself. It only uses an email interface for address validation, password reminders, etc., but everything else is done via the web interface and you can even control things there if you no longer have access to the email address being configured.

A year later or something like this, beeing tired of receving all the mails,
I unsubscribed with a lot of pain (several attempts until I succeded) and again
without understanding what I have done.

That should be *much* easier now.

I could however visit every individual
message and each wx*** lists separately up to now dates. I lived like this until
this new change.

Yes. Ezmlm doesn't have a way to suspend delivery other than doing an actual unsubscribe. So your address was not in the subscriber list that got transfered.

Now I'm a little be stuck and I do not know (not to say understand) what I
should do.

As you've probably discovered you now need to be subscribed to be able to post messages to the list, (this is to help reduce spam,) but as I mentioned before you can turn off the delivery of messages if you would rather just read from the archives. Just go to the options page for wxpython-users and set the mail delivery option.
