(And a meta-question -- is there a way to subscribe to this
list but not receive mail from it? I want to remain subscribed
so I can post easily, but since I read it via gmane I don't
need the pain of high email traffic on my dialup connection.
The ezmlm info mail I requested contained no info on this.)

The lists currently don't require you to be subscribed to be able to send mail, so you can use your gmane approach without needing to subscribe to send.

I hadn't realized that (or had forgotten it). Thanks.

BTW, the current setup is why there is so much spam going through the lists, but ezmlm and dotsrc.org doesn't give us enough flexibility to make other choices worth it, at least last time I checked. One of these days when I have a bit more time I'll most likely
be switching to a new server and running Mailman, which does let us allow you to be subscribed but not receive mail, and then we can restrict posting to subscribed members only.

When you have more time? Well, ok, I won't hold my breath.

I've asked Santa for more time. I'm hoping to get a few weeks worth of 30 hour days.

You can try this one, too: Polyphasic sleep - Wikipedia . You only have to nap for 2-6 hours a day

Would 28 hours per day do? See dbeat.com
