It works (using the wx package separately)

I just copied the wx package from the CVS distribution (that is,
wxWindows/wxPython/wx/) to my wxPython installation (2.4.0.7), and it
works (at least, the first example in
http://www.orbtech.com/www/wxPythonExamples.html works

Hooray!

Great!

And earlier:

I assume you mean the wxPython.wx package, which is another
thing completely. Or am I mistaken?

No, I have been using Patrick's wx package for Mindwrapper.

Patrick's wx package is a wrapper that removes those (IMO)
pesky wx prefixes from the wxPython names, giving you names
like wx.App and wx.Button. Very nice, IMO -- I just wish I
could use it

The copy of Patrick's wx package that I downloaded sometime around
the first of April has been working fine with wxPython 2.4.0.1
Windows binaries (for Python 2.2), and I used it for all of the
presenters in Mindwrapper. The copy of the package at:

http://www.orbtech.com/www/wxPackage.html
has a revision number of 1.1.2.2, and a later revision date than
the one I am using. I would guess that either version will work
with the current binaries for 2.4.0.x.

BTW, in case a Mindwrapaper user has not downloaded the package, I
include a copy of it in my Mindwrapper distributions. (IIRC, this
won't be necessary after 2.4.1.0.) One of the things I like most
about this is the symmetry it provides. For example, the 'mw.Panel'
presenter in Mindwrapper wraps a 'wx.Panel' view.

Ah. Sorry for being presumptuous

I guess I've been out of the wx game for too long...
