img2py-like util for other binary data?

I used img2py to embed an icon into my app.

i would like to embed .wav files into my app also.

is there anything similar for other kinds of binary data?

looking over img2py, i guess that it would be feasible (for someone) to write it, but not this newb right now.

ResourcePackage is a general framework for automatically embedding resource data in Python packages/modules. You can find it here:
