Image Alpha Demo?

I noticed a thread a while back about problems with the alpha layer demo. I confirmed this when I noticed any transparent PNG I created with Photoshop 6 is displayed incorrectly by the demo. Is there any workaround or plan to fix this?

Have you tried it with 2.5.2.7? If it's still broke there then please ask on the wx-users list as the wx alpha experts hang out there.

Actually, I'm not sure what I did, but I got it working. As a side note, the toucan.png image is saved in indexed mode as opposed to most programs' standard default, rgb mode. I think wx's alpha support might be making a distinction between the two modes.

Hi all,

I'm also aving trouble with png and alpha channel.

I'm trying to use png with alpha for toolbar icons: with 2.5.2.7 it is starting to work but the support for the alpha channel is not perfect.
The "new file" icon, for example, is a blank sheet of paper with an alpha channel without intermediate levels. When showed the alpha is correcly masked but it is masked also the white colour (255,255,255).
I currently solved this converting the icon to indexed gif with transparency but the icons I'm using are 32-bit rgb (Mac-OSX aqua like).

I've tested this only on WinXP and I'm planning to test it under Linux-GTK2 this week.

Tell me if you need further info.
bye
