Iewin browsing localhost with no internet connection

I'm using the embedded ActiveX Internet Explorer control
from wx.lib.iewin. Among other things, I'm using it to
display locally generated content served by an embedded

web server.

I've found that, when the machine is off the network, the

IE control doesn't display these locally available pages
(i.e., content from [http://localhost:8080/main](http://localhost:1234/blah)).

But the calls to the wxPython control’s Navigate or Navigate2methods never get to the server. (These calls work fineif the machine has an internet connection.)

I see the same problem using the ActiveX_IEHtmlWindow.py
demo.

This is for wxPython 2.8.7.1 with Python 2.5.2 on Windows

XP.
