I’ve looked into CEF Python. It’s seems like a viable option and it has a demo with wxpython.
@robin, would there be any difference between using CEF python + wxpython vs. the wx.html2?

It’s been a very long time since I looked at CEF but I would guess that it at least will not have as tight of an integration.

I have a user who has the exact same error message as above.
They have the WebView2 runtime installed from Microsoft, and we’re on wxPython 4.1.1 (conda) with Python 3.10 (conda).
Did you ever find out what caused it and how to resolve it?
Unfortunately, I can not remember all details of this issue anymore.
But, I believe, installing the webview runtime from the link above fixed the issue for me.
Having Edge installed was not sufficient.

I’ll have to investigate further then, since on the target machine, the runtime is installed (along with latest Edge).
